Zachary's Birthday










My struggle was a little real...
...but I made it!

For those of you who have read my previous posts, you probably know about my best friend Zachary. I've known him since 6th grade, and he's honestly more like a brother than a friend. He's an amazingly talented fashion designer (recently won Project Runway: Threads and you should definitely check out his fall collection which I modeled in) and an incredibly intelligent individual and I'm so lucky to call him my best friend. It was his birthday a couple of weekends ago and I spent the day with him, taking pictures and eating Thai food and working on blogs and contemplating life and such. I feel like I end up talking about Zachary in pretty much every single post since he does take a lot of the pictures for my blog and has a very strong presence in my fashion life but I just wanted to give a little bit of Zachary love in honor of his 16th birthday. :)

Anyways, in this look the main piece for me was this gorgeous Zara scarf. I bought this on boxing day and I have barely been able to take it off since. I'm usually into layering my necklaces (which I couldn't quite part with as you can see), but as it gets a little chillier I find that scarves are much more practical while still being incredibly chic. This blanket scarf is not only the largest and coziest item of clothing I've ever owned, but the thickness adds some amazing dimension and texture to any outfit, and the simple black and white check print is minimal enough that it doesn't overpower anything else in the outfit. I could probably even get away with wearing this scarf with a print...

    I am absolutely in love with that scarf! Dainty necklaces are also a favorite of mine :) Girl, you really know how to strut as I love the pictures of you walking across the street, and I applaud you for doing a split. Bravo, bravo. If I were still my ballet years that would have been a possibility, but now I'm as stiff as a stick-haha! Your friend Zachary sounds like such an amazing, accomplished person, and he sure knows how to take some great pictures :)

    Great outfit! The scarf really stands out. Looks lovely on you! I'm totally into scarfs at the moment, also because they help me overcome the London weather. haha

    Thanks Emily! Yeah the Dogeared necklace was a Christmas gift from two years ago and I was so psyched when I got it! They're super nice necklaces...I might have to splurge and get myself another one :) You danced? I'm actually super into ballet that's so awesome!

    I was really into ballet for a good five to six years, and then I moved, so the commute to my dance teacher was too far every week :( My mom keeps telling me that my posture used to be so great and now she wishes I kept on doing ballet-haha You really have the perfect figure for ballet!
