Sorry for the sub-par quality of these photos...they were taken on a phone in the pouring rain which I can now tell you are not prime shooting conditions. In early December, California suffered the worst storm it has seen in years, and on this particular day school and dance was cancelled (only in California do we cancel school and work for heavy rain) so I thought, "why not take some pictures?" On the bright side, this huge storm really helped our drought situation...
I have to admit, I was pretty skeptical when I first got these jeans. They are a lot louder than the rest of my closet, so it took me a little bit to even wear them in public. I have to admit though, they are now one of my absolute favorite pairs. They're so unique and fun, and it's amazing the different ways I can style them. They're extremely high waisted so are super flattering and look great with so many different tops, and I can wear it with just my favorite bralette and new Zara sweater and not feel too revealing. The best part? I got them off of Instagram for $20.
Speaking of that Zara sweater, it's my new favorite sweater of all time. I mentioned it in my 5 Fall Favorites post and then when it went on sale for Black Friday, I couldn't resist. It's so simple that I can wear it with pretty much anything, but that slit just adds the best movement and touch to it, plus it makes layering so much fun (button downs and chiffons are my current favorites).
Oh, and word to the wise: sun hats are (oddly enough) not made for heavy rain and when you're having the worst storm your state has seen in years, rain boots are a good thing to have. Californian struggles...
