Zachary Fernandez RTW Fall 2014

If you have been reading my blog for a while, you probably have heard of my best friend Zachary. He's an amazing fashion designer, and is always finding his way onto my blog. From behind the scenes in his studio, to photography for some of my looks (this one and this one and this one and probably more), to fashion show craziness, he has definitely become a Sarcastic Wasian regular. I met him in the 6th grade, and we've been best friends ever since.

That's why when he asked me to model for his latest collection, there was no way I was going to say no.

5 Fall Favorites

Hi guys! So sorry it has taken me so long to post...I've just been so busy with homework, dance, PSATs, and just life in general. Plus, I'm still trying to get back into the swing of blogging, so bear with me here. Uh oh. I feel a long post coming on. (Sorry in advance!)

Fashion Show!

It has taken me a really long time to get around to this, but finally, I have fashion show picture's for you! I gave a little sneak peek of Zachary's collection in my post In the Studio of Zachary Fernandez, but he was not the only fabulous designer in this show. Georgia Gubetzahl, Mikayla Phinessee, Emily Hampton, Sophia Zurr, and Quin Sotelo (who I modeled for!) were all among the amazing roster of designers at this amazing show.

In case you weren't there, I decided to show you all some of my favorite moments, both on the runway and off. The runway photos were taken by Nathan Bennett, Greg Gutbezahl, and Sasha Berliner, while the backstage photos were taken mainly by me, but with some help from Emily and Zachary.

I hope you like it! Maybe we'll see you next year...

Trends from NYFW

Even though NYFW is over and LFW is gaining momentum, I thought I'd take a moment to reflect on this season's biggest trends on the runways of Lincoln Center. While I couldn't include all of the amazing designers and trends that went on during fashion week (will try to do better LFW coverage), this is just a quick sampling of the trends that we will be seeing this year. I love seeing how designers influence each other, sometimes even in subconscious ways. So many of these examples could fit into multiple categories, and it's fun to see how many trends and creative impulses can be incorporated into one look.

I hope you like these...get ready for some winter inspiration! (and yet another long runway post)

February Inspirations

In lieu of the recent Paris couture shows, this month's inspirations are all of my favorite looks from the runway. From Dior to Ralph & Russo to On Aura Vout Tu (notice, NOT Chanel. That was a disgrace. More on that later), these are some of the most beautiful looks from fashion week.

I hope you're as inspired as I am by these beautiful ladies! Sorry in advance...this post is really long!

December Inspirations

The chill is definitely starting to set in here in the Bay Area. Being a true California girl, I have an extremely low tolerance for cold weather, so this month I am really into things that look like they will keep me warm: fur, thick knits, jackets, boots, long sleeves, etc. Because of this inconvenient weather, winter is the hardest season to dress for. It's so tempting to succumb to the wrath of the cozy grey and blue and black winter staples, but I think that this is really the time to break out the brightest colors and prints. Especially against the dreary, dark backdrop of winter, it's refreshing and stunning to see these amazing prints and textures and bright colors.

This winter, I'm also really interested in winter skirts and dresses. Typically these girly frocks are stowed away until spring, but why not opt for a maxi or tights? These beauties have no business being in exile for so long, so why not take advantage of them and stand out from the crowd?

Makeup wise, I'm loving roses, browns, and shimmer for the eyes, a nude or red lip, and a dust of pretty pink blush. I think these warm tones are great for those holiday parties and family get-togethers while still giving that drop-dead-gorgeous glamorous look. I'm not usually a blush girl--bronzer is my saving grace--but in these frigidly low temperatures, even the darkest of skin tones start looking drab, pasty, and kind of dead. A bit of rosy pink and some good foundation can do the trick, bringing warmth and life to your face.

Marc Jacobs Leaves Louis Vuitton

Okay, I know this is old news, but I think it's still worth reporting.

After 16 years of leading Louis Vuitton from a small luggage company to the infamous fashion label it is today, Marc Jacobs has decided to leave. Although, lucky for us fashion lovers, he's leaving to focus more on his own namesake brand, so we should be seeing more coming out of this favorite brand.

Victoria's Secret Fashion Show...in pictures!

Out of the hundreds of fashion shows that happen every year, the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show is easily the most watched and anticipated by far. It is attended by only the most elite, with performances from big names such as Taylor Swift and Fall Out Boy. The world's best models strut their stuff on this runway, such as Karlie Kloss, Adriana Lima, Alessandra Ambrosio, Candice Swanepoel, and even Cara Delevingne. In past years, even (my favorite person ever) Miranda Kerr transformed into an Angel for this fantastic night. It is scheduled to appear on CBS on December 10th, but you don't have to wait that long to get in on the fun.

To start us off, here are some pre-show snaps of the Angels and everyone involved primping, priming, and prepping for the show:

The Summer Wishlist

Happy June everybody!

Summer is finally here! Season of sun, beaches, popsicles, and natural tans. I have a jam packed summer this year (only 2 weeks free?! WHERE DID THE OTHER 8 GO?!?! Oh right, summer intensives) but that's not to say I won't be thoroughly enjoying these 3 months of freedom.

je t'aime

Hey there!

So sorry it took so long for me to write this post. Life has been so hectic with STAR tests, end of school stuff, family stuff, etc. I did find time to take this shoot a few weeks ago though!

Monochrome Madness

Hi everyone!

Before I begin, I wanted to apologize for the lack of blogging happening lately. My life has been so hectic with dance shows (will post pictures possibly, comment if you want to see), homework, school...everything always happens all at once! Anyways, this is my little monochrome talk. Enjoy!
