5 Fall Favorites

Hi guys! So sorry it has taken me so long to post...I've just been so busy with homework, dance, PSATs, and just life in general. Plus, I'm still trying to get back into the swing of blogging, so bear with me here. Uh oh. I feel a long post coming on. (Sorry in advance!)

Speaking of that though...I just got a new theme! I totally love this theme, and it was so easy to install. I got it from the Etsy shop CWebsBiz but I think they have a more official website that I have linked in my footer. All of their themes are beautiful and it What do you guys think?

Agh. Why can't I just write about what I came here to write?

So now on to the post! The following are 5 of my favorite fall items/trends. All of these items are $100 or under, and you can get them with some Raise gift cards! Unfortunately, staying current and looking amazing comes at a (very high) price, so I'm always looking for little ways to save. Raise is one of my new favorite websites, as it is a completely safe way to buy and sell discounted gift cards. Possibly the best part though, is the variety of gift cards they offer. From H&M to Zara to Ulta to Forever 21 to Topshop to Aldo, Raise is your one stop shop for all of your fashion and beauty gift cards. Sign up here!

My first item is the Lancome Crushed Rose L'Absolu Rouge lipstick. This is the perfect fall color, as it's a pretty deep plum shade with warmer undertones. However, it's surprisingly neutral and soft, making it the perfect daytime color for all skin tones. While I love a good statement lip, subtler colors allow for more creativity on the eyes and in the outfit itself. On top of the beautiful color, the L'Absolu Rouge formula is so creamy and moisturizing, it's almost not even necessary to wear lip balm underneath. I know the price is a bit steep, but trust me--it's worth it.

Item number two is not one I've tried yet, and it's another expensive one (sorry!) but it's Deborah Lippman nude nail polish. This one's more of just a trend that's one of my favorites, and I can't really suggest a nude nail polish to you since it'll be different for everyone's skin tone. Anyways, I'm not usually into nail polish trends and such, but the nude polish trend that showed up on this season's runway is gorgeous. I can't wear bright nailpolish for dance anyways (not technically supposed to wear any, but pale pink or nude every now and then never hurt anyone) so any kind of neutral nails I'm really into, but there's something about nude nails that looks just so effortlessly elegant and modern. On top of this, you won't have to worry about matching your nails to your outfit.

The next favorite are these black Aldo Mules. You can see me in them in my recent look Amoeba Anarchy, where I briefly talk about my love for these gorgeous shoes. As seen by their steady prevalence on runways and street style for the past few seasons, it's looking like mules aren't going anywhere. They're so classic and minimal that you can wear them with virtually anything to add that extra touch of instant glamour. There are so many fun variations on this mule, my favorite of course being Tibi's last season jeweled version and this season's mohair ones, but there's nothing like the classic black.

My next item is this grey Zara Long Sweater with Side Slits. I love subtle twists on staples like this--who knew two slits could update a sweater so much? We all know that sweaters are an absolute must for fall and winter when it starts to get colder again. These deep side slits are so beautiful on their own, but they also offer a slew of fun styling opportunities. You can do some fun layering (think: patterned button downs, chiffon camis, lace trim...), creative half tucks, or even just use this as one of your few chances to show some skin in fall.

Last but certainly not least are these gorgeous Topshop Textured Snakeskin Culottes. For those of us who live in areas where fall really means Indian Summer (thank you California), or maybe your fall isn't all that cold yet, these culottes are perfect. Adding some length and thickness to our favorite summer shorts, a culotte is fall's way of hanging on to the last slivers of warmth and summer amid the pumpkin-scented orange-tinted autumn. A good, high-waisted, structured culotte is flattering on anybody (including you. Yes, YOU) and is one of the best ways to look instantly chic. On top of all this loveliness, these striking white lovelies have an awesome jacquard snake print to add that extra dimension.

Thanks so much for reading another one of my super long posts, I hope you liked it! What are some of your favorite items and trends for fall? I’m always looking for suggestions (as if I don’t have enough things I want to buy). Don’t forget  to check out Raise for some discount gift cards!
