Zachary Fernandez RTW Fall 2014

If you have been reading my blog for a while, you probably have heard of my best friend Zachary. He's an amazing fashion designer, and is always finding his way onto my blog. From behind the scenes in his studio, to photography for some of my looks (this one and this one and this one and probably more), to fashion show craziness, he has definitely become a Sarcastic Wasian regular. I met him in the 6th grade, and we've been best friends ever since.

That's why when he asked me to model for his latest collection, there was no way I was going to say no.

The other fabulous models are Sophia Zur and Quin Sotelo, who go to school with Zachary and I as well. They are also amazingly talented designers (I walked for Quin in last year's fashion show, which you can check out here) and next time I get some pictures of their work I will be sure to post them here. I feel like I'm the only one who isn't a fashion designer...hmm...

For my American friends, I'm guessing you know about the popular fashion design reality TV show: Project Runway. Well, this fall they came out with a new show called Project Runway: Threads where teenage fashion designers can compete in a Project Runway like situation, with challenges, time constraints, and runway shows. Every episode is a different age group and therefore a different, winner, and Zachary was on the 3rd episode of the show with the other 15 year old designers. *SPOILER ALERT: Zachary wins!* I'll link the episode here for those of you who would like to watch it (start at 1:20:00 for Zachary's episode) plus a little interview with Zachary.

The photos were all taken in San Francisco around the Ferry Building (because the security guard didn't want us taking them in the Ferry Building) by Jordan Fernandez, Zachary's amazingly talented cousin. Those Fernandez's...

Every single piece of clothing in this shoot was designed and sewn by Zachary (except the shoes. Mine are from JustFab, Quin's from Madewell, and I'm not sure about Sophie). His talent and craftsmanship never cease to amaze me. How he made these corsets really baffles me and I am in love with the harsh angles combines with the softer, more elegant lace, organza, satin, and velvet.

Thanks so much for reading this very long and picture heavy post...I hope you liked it! Go check out Zachary's website and Instagram for more information, and if you like what you see, don't hesitate to contact him about an order! He makes amazing custom clothing and (with some convincing) these items may even be for sale...

Thanks again for reading!
